We collect two categories of information from visitors to this archive:
Automatically Collected Data
When you access shorehousekitchen.org, our servers automatically record your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and the time and date of your visit. This information is collected in server logs for security monitoring and aggregate traffic analysis. It is not linked to personally identifiable information unless required for fraud investigation.
Voluntarily Submitted Data
When you submit the contact form on this site, we collect the name, email address, phone number, and message content you provide. This information is used solely to respond to your submission. It is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Cookies
This archive uses a single session cookie to record your response to the cookie consent banner. This cookie stores only the value "accepted" or "rejected" and does not track browsing behaviour, link to personal data, or expire beyond your browser session unless you clear your browser storage manually.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts that set cookies on your device. If we add any such functionality in future, this policy will be updated before implementation.
Third-Party Content
This archive displays images hosted by Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org). Accessing these images involves your browser making a direct request to Wikimedia servers, which may log your IP address under Wikimedia's own privacy policy. We have no control over and no access to Wikimedia's server logs.
External links on this site point to government websites (rcaanc-cirnac.gc.ca, afn.ca, itk.ca) and reference publications (thecanadianencyclopedia.ca). We do not share any user data with these sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices.
Data Retention
Server log files are retained for ninety days and then deleted. Contact form submissions are retained for twelve months from the date of receipt, after which they are permanently deleted unless an ongoing correspondence requires longer retention.
Your Rights Under PIPEDA
You have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, and to withdraw consent for collection and use at any time (subject to legal and contractual restrictions). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@shorehousekitchen.org. We will respond within thirty days as required by PIPEDA.
Children
This archive does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of thirteen. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through this site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
Material changes to this policy will be indicated by an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of this archive after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Significant changes will be noted in the archive's footer for thirty days following the update.
